Maybe ten minutes away. I should be there in just a second, darling. I didn't know you were as eager to see me as I am you ❤️

[He knew her schedule after all even when she didn't outright announce her emergency late shifts. He had spent months tracking them far before he ever outright approached her and he was getting pretty good at predicting these "emergencies".

Peter is good on his word too. Ten minutes and there's the tall lanky guy rapping against the shop's back door.]

I figured you wouldn't want to let me through the front.

( Knowing he's that close is enough to have butterflies fluttering around in her stomach and kick her into high gear to finish up the remaining tasks for the evening. )

( By the time he arrives and knocks on the door, Orihime's already in the back of the bakery setting the trash by the door, so it doesn't take her long to answer with a bright smile. )

Don't be silly, ( she says as she reaches out to take his hand and pulls him inside, ) I would have unlocked the front door for you.

We have some leftover cookies, so I decorated some for you.

( Knowing Peter has a sweet tooth, she's always saving or making something for him, and today, he has an assortment of cookies, even some heartshaped, to enjoy! )

Made sure no peanuts this time!

[Oh. She decorated some specifically for him? And they're all hearts too. He laughs warmly at her mention of peanuts, remembering a certain dash for an epi-pen and some medical treatment the last time he took some home. Here he is though seemingly wholly undisturbed.]

You couldn't have known. Besides, I'd let my throat swell up a dozen times for you~.

[It's clearly a tease considering he lifts their joined hands so he can press a kiss against her hand after.]

Still, it's good to know these things! I prefer you alive, well, and breathing.

( Despite how worried and freaked out she was that something she made sent him into an allergic reaction, his teasing is enough to get a small laugh from her, and that laugh quickly turns into a nervous giggle when he kisses the back of her hand.

It doesn't take long for her cheeks to pinken, and she bites on her bottom lip as she looks away, grinning like crazy. )

I-I hope you like them! There were cookies left over, and since I had some time, I wanted to make you something.

( With her freehand, she'll pick one up and hold it up for him. )

[Ah, his darling is so sweet. The way he can get her to blush in no time flat is something he's particularly fond of and he takes a moment as she talks to just gaze at her like the lovesick idiot he is.

His attention only turns to the cookies again when she holds one of them up for him. He hums a little in thought and then leans over to take a big bite out of the cookie. It's the perfect opportunity as well to poke out that long tongue of his, letting it glide over the fingers she uses to hold up said cookie.

With his mouth so full all he can do is give her an outright lustful look before he finally swallows said mouthful of cookie.]

Delicious.

[The way he purrs that out though combined with the look makes one wonder if he's talking about just the cookie.]

[... Oh. He hadn't expected the curtain thing. Sure he wasn't thrilled about walking on glass but like that would have stopped him. And look, he's pulled pants on and everything! Yeah they're still undone but the man got half-dressed on the thin precipice right outside her window. That's gotta count for something?

He looks back at the chair laying in pieces on the sidewalk, back at her and then he snorts out a laugh.]

Not really but I appreciate your effort in letting me in. It was pretty hot.

[ Harley moves around the room and throws all her stuff back into her go-bag. This spot is a bust now. Time to find a new place to lay low. ]

[He says it with such easy calm it would be eerie to a typical person. He's doing up his pants as he gives her a grin full of sharp teeth.]

I'm planning to visit my parents this weekend.

[Evangeline tends to inform Peter when she's traveling anywhere, even though she's sure he would know about it regardless. The risk of him not knowing, and then panicking about her being missing and assuming someone kidnapped her and going on a murder spree - she'd really rather just make sure he knows.]

They said I could bring you, if you wanted. Do you want to meet them?

[ Harley reaches up to brush her fingers over the back of her neck where the government tracking implant should have been disabled. Should have been. Well. Shit. ]

[ She tips her head and gives him another long, considering look. ]

I'm not gonna fuck you just for letting me crash at your place for a few hours, if that's what you think will happen. What are you trying to get out of this?

As much as I'd love to fuck you I'm not interested if you're not interested.

[He's slipping his shirt back on now casually before he looks back to her with a much softer smile.]

[There's a momentary flicker of disappointment there but he had been standing nude outside her window. He was already banking on some sort of rejection and at least externally it doesn't seem to wound him for very long. Instead the softer look continues.]

That's alright. I can be patient for you, darling.

[For a while at least. Particularly if she doesn't mind hiding away at his place.]

Trust me, no one would think to look for you where I live.

[Does that sound nice? Ominous? Take your pick. Either way he flicks his gaze to the broken window.]

You want to go out the door or that way?

[Considering she's hiding and all maybe out the window is better.]

Neither. After a crash like that, somebody's looking this way already.

[ She pulls a crowbar from her bag and hands it to him, zipping the bag up after and hefting it onto her shoulder. ]

We take the service stairs down to the basement. This place and the one next to it used to have connecting doors and if we're lucky we can get into an old prohibition smuggling tunnel that goes all the way down the block.

[Peter always vastly appreciates the head's up. Sure he might still follow her anyhow but it prevents him from putting trackers in her luggage or something equally annoying to her.

When she offers for her to go with her though that apparently was something he never expected. His brows raise up high and he looks at her with something like wonder.]

[He wasn't exactly keen on other people but even Peter could recognize how important it was to be introduced to a significant other's parents. When their parents were good and not shitheels like his.]

I don't mind... as long as I can set some ground rules first? Nothing super hard! Just a couple things so you make a good impression. I want them to like you.

[Peter has many likeable qualities, but he's not great at first impressions.]

[Ground rules? Right, okay. Peter plops down on the nearest sittable surface and gives Evangeline his full attention.]

[Then he gives a light grin. Usually it's not do, forgive him for being a little cheeky here.]

[It's definitely usually 'not do', and Evangeline acknowledges that with a chuckle before getting serious.]

Number one - and I probably don't need to tell you this, but just so we're clear: if you hurt my parents, I will kick your ass to the curb so hard you'll have skid marks.

Number two... just. Try not to scare them? They don't know you like I do - if they find out you've hurt other people, they're going to worry that you might hurt me. So don't talk about your knife collection or about following me around before we started dating, things like that.

Number three, we're not having sex in my parents' apartment. I would die of embarrassment on the spot.

[Peter soaks all of those rules in. The first he would like to say she shouldn't have to define but he gets it, he really does. He hates his mother with a passion and thinking about someone else liking their own parents is very foreign to him.

Trying not to scare them is again something he can fake well. He'd faked being utterly normal to more than a few business associates through the years. He can be a perfect gentleman around her parents and leave the knife collection at home.

The sex part though ... he doesn't argue with but he does quirk an inquisitive brow.]

We could always get a hotel.

[Excuse him for being an unrepentant whore for her.]

[Evangeline sighs, but it's clearly fond.]

If you hold out until we get home, I'll reward you for being such a good boy. Okay?

[She's glad that's the only one he voices opposition to, since it's the least important of the three.]

[He perks up quickly at the talk of 'rewards' before he snorts out a laugh.]

You're turning me into a real pet here, darling. I've got to admit though you've got me intrigued on your idea of a reward.

[Oooo, a crowbar. He looks at it in momentary surprise and then just takes it in stride apparently. Or maybe a little more than in stride, he seems very pleased to be of use to her.]

You sure know a lot about this place.

[Since she's given him the crowbar he assumes she means to put him to work on said doors. He hooks the crowbar over his shoulder and dutifully follows her.]

[ She shrugs and leads the way to the stairs, not looking back to make sure he's following. He does or he doesn't. Makes no difference to her. ]

I've had to sneak around down there before. Some parts are real grimy. You got hot water at your place, don'tcha?

[ The fact that hot water isn't a given for her may be revealing a little too much about her general quality of life. But hey, she gets by! And if he's going to stalk her, she might as well make use of him. ]
